Rehousing
Contrary to the Persons affected by the Project (PAP) as regards the other segments of the highway, who received compensation in kind for the losses incurred, the owners of houses and/or plots of land listed on the Pikine –Classified Mbao Forest stretch crossing the urban area of ‘Pikine irrégulier Sud’, will be given the choice to either be paid cash or be given accommodation or serviced plots.
The Senegalese State has provided the highway project with an estate of 165 hectares located at Tivaouane-Peulh to be used to resettle the families to be displaced from the Pikine –Mbao Forest stretch, if they express the wish. Â
The site’s development will start with a first block of 81 hectares for good quality housing with all the basic commodities:
- Access road leading to the site ;
- Asphalted internal roads,
- Access to drinking water with the existence of an elevated tank ;
- Access to electricity and public lighting;
- Proper sanitation system ;
- Social facilities
